Cycle Sportif

2,152km of pure exhilaration...

Here at Ride Wild, we saw the huge potential that Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way has to become a bucket-list cycling route. Our dream came to fruition in September 2017 when we launched our inaugural Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif in Kinsale, County Cork and headed northwards all the way to the Inishowen peninsula in Donegal. Supported by Fáilte Ireland, our first sportif was a huge success and we’re already looking forward to doing it all over again (twice!) in 2018!

The Sportif is Ireland’s only fully supported multi-stage sportif where nothing is overlooked but the sea!

Our experienced team of tour directors and support staff ensure that our cyclists have nothing to concentrate on other than pumping the legs and soaking up everything that the wonderful Wild Atlantic Way has to offer. So whether you join us for a single Day Stage, a block of 4 stages or the full tour, this will be the ride of a lifetime!

Spring Sportif

Our Spring Sportif will start from Kinsale on Friday 20th April and continue to the finish line in Muff on the Tuesday 8th May. The Sportif is made up of 16 exhilarating stages along the Wild Atlantic Way and will be broken down into 4 blocks of 4 stages apiece.

What’s with these blocks you’re talking about?

At 2,152 km, the full route is pretty long and most people won’t be able to take all that time away from family and work so we’ve broken the route up into 4 blocks to make things more manageable for our cyclists.

The idea is that you sign up for a block of 4 stages and stay with us for 5 nights, arriving the evening before your first stage and departing the morning after your last stage. All your accommodation, meals, luggage transfers, paramedic cover, road marshalling, kit laundry services and massage services are provided so all you have to do is pedal.

Who is this event aimed at?

The Spring event is geared towards domestic and international club cyclists who want to kick start their summer season with some of Ireland’s classic climbs and use the Sportif as a training camp to give you that competitive edge in your summer season.

September Sportif

The September Sportif will kick of on Saturday 8th September from Kinsale in West Cork and finish in Muff on the Inishowen Peninsula on Wednesday 26th September.

The route of our September Sportif will see our cyclists pass some of the most iconic signature points along the magical Wild Atlantic Way, from glorious West Cork to the mystical Skellig Islands off the County Kerry coast, the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and 8 of Ireland’s iconic lighthouses. This route has something for everyone and is geared towards more leisurely cyclists or those who want to wind down the summer season with a bang!

In both our Spring and September Sportifs you have the option of signing up for a Single Day Stage, a Block of 4 Stages or why not come and experience the Full Tour? The choice is yours!
